BCECEB Senior Resident/Tutor Eligibility Criteria
- As per the NMC (Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025), DNB / DNB Super Speciality qualifications are also recognized as valid for selection to the Senior Resident/Tutor post.
- The minimum educational qualification for Senior Resident/Tutor posts is a Postgraduate degree in the concerned subject/specialty.
- Only in case of a shortage of eligible postgraduate-degree candidates, candidates with a minimum qualification of Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant subject will be considered; however, such diploma holders will have 10 marks deducted in the merit list compared to postgraduate degree holders, and postgraduate degree holders will rank higher in merit even if diploma holders secure the same marks.
- Candidates holding a postgraduate qualification recognized as equivalent under Medical Council teacher eligibility qualification norms are also eligible to apply.
Category-wise Distribution of Senior Resident/Tutor Posts
- 40% of posts will be filled from members of the Bihar State Health Service cadre.
- 40% of posts will be filled from doctors who completed their postgraduate degree course (under the Residency Scheme) from medical/dental colleges within the State of Bihar.
- The remaining 20% of posts will be filled from doctors who obtained their postgraduate degree (Residency Scheme) from recognized institutions outside the State of Bihar.
BCECEB Senior Resident/Tutor Reservation Policy
The panel for tenure posts will be prepared as per the reservation policy notified by the Government of Bihar. Reserved category applicants must submit their caste certificate through the competent authority. Reservation benefit will be granted only on submission of a Non-Creamy Layer caste certificate applicable to the State of Bihar; candidates who do not submit such a certificate will be treated as belonging to the Unreserved category. Reservation for women, differently-abled candidates, and freedom fighters' grandchildren/granddaughters will be provided as per the norms prescribed by the General Administration Department.
BCECEB Senior Resident/Tutor Terms for Appointment to Tenure Post
- Only the subjects mentioned in the Prospectus will be filled through this panel.
- Doctors holding a postgraduate qualification in more than one subject and wishing to apply for multiple subjects must apply separately, department-wise, and mention this clearly in their online application.
- Candidates whose degree is not recognized by MCI/DCI/NMC will not be considered for candidature.
- Upon appointment to the tenure post, doctors will be paid as per Pay Level-09; those already serving in the Health Service cadre will continue to draw their existing pay, along with Dearness Allowance and other admissible allowances.
- Candidates who have already completed a three-year tenure as Senior Resident/Tutor in a particular subject are not eligible for reappointment to the tenure (three-year) post in the same subject.
- As per Health Department Order No. 91(17) dated 27 January 2023, PG degree/diploma holders bound by a three-year service bond, who have not yet been posted as Senior Resident/Tutor at any medical college or hospital, will be given an opportunity to fill vacant tenure posts, subject to recommendation and departmental NOC - for such candidates, the tenure period will be counted from the date of joining.
BCECEB Senior Resident/Tutor Salary
Selected candidates appointed to the tenure post of Senior Resident/Tutor will be paid as per Pay Level-09 of the pay matrix, along with Dearness Allowance (DA) and other admissible allowances. Doctors already serving in the Bihar State Health Service cadre will continue to draw their existing pay along with DA and other permissible allowances.
